Covid-19 Operational Updates
We are here for essential care services and telemedicine.
Here’s what you need to know.
With the new shelter-in-place guidelines in effect in Illinois, we wanted to update you on our current status of operations and importantly, our role as essential healthcare providers.
We will continue to provide essential healthcare services but must defer all non-essential services to telemedicine or reschedule those services for a future date, after the COVID-19 crisis has abated, to avoid any non-essential face-to-face interaction with providers and patients.
We will continue to offer Physical Medicine treatments for healthcare services deemed essential, specifically in the following circumstances:
· Acute musculoskeletal conditions with, (i) constant, unremitting pain, (ii) numbness or tingling in extremities, (iii) significant functional deficits such as inability to sit or stand, walk on stairs, or lift children, (iv) weakness in the arms or legs, or (v) pain of 6 or greater on a 1 to 10 scale.
Telemedicine is available, where applicable
For all non-essential care, your provider is now able to schedule your next visit through telemedicine!
These services include:
· All visits that can reasonably be conducted via telemedicine
· Acute or chronic musculoskeletal conditions that are not essential care
Visits that should be rescheduled
· We will not be offering massage therapy at this time in order to best support social distancing. This is in line with the broader massage therapy community in Chicago. We appreciate your understanding.
·Supportive Care visits are currently being rescheduled a few months out.
·Any non-essential visit that cannot be conducted via telemedicine
Within our clinic, we are following all CDC guidelines, enforcing strict hygiene, cleaning and social distancing practices, assessing the situation around the clock, and ensuring that your appointment time and space is 1:1 with your provider and who is dedicated to your safety.
At Lakeside, our goal is to continue to serve our patients with essential needs. We encourage you to speak with your provider to help determine your best course of action.
For those who can see Dr. Kiper through telemedicine visits, we encourage patients to take advantage of this option. If you are exhibiting Covid-19 symptoms, please stay home.
Our team is here to help you. We thank you for your patience and commitment to our community.
